چکیده
A chemically treated luffa sponge (LS) derived from the ripe fruit of Luffa cylindrica (LC) plant is investigated as an efficient solar photothermal conversion material for water purification applications very first time. Hydrophilicity and absorbance LS are enhanced by dopamine treatment candle soot surface coating. The fabricated modified (SM-LS) leads to a superb evaporation rate high 1.30 kg m−2 h−1, which five times higher than that freshwater under 1 sun illumination. outdoor experiment shows excellent efficiency 79.98%, significantly other low-cost materials. Such SM-LS can be further applied desalinate seawater, where it shown m2 surface-modified produce 7.5–8 L per day. Hence, proposed system utilized in remote areas refugee camps.

متن کاملPretreating Luffa Sponge (Luffa cylindrica L.) with Concentrated Phosphoric Acid and Subsequent Enzymatic Saccharification
Luffa was evaluated as a potential energy crop. A considerable amount of luffa sponge biomass can be grown in a vertical direction with approximately 70% polysaccharide content and low lignin content. When concentrated H3PO4 was employed to pretreat luffa sponge, hemicelluloses were the most sensitive component, followed by cellulose and lignin. Hemicellulose solubilization and cellulose loss p...

The vegetable sponge of Luffa cylindrica was studied as a matrix for the immobilization of Aspergillus niger 26, producer of polymethylgalacturonase (PMG). Entrapped spores could grow and multiply within the lattice of the sponge. The influence of loofa sponge inoculum content, initial spore inoculum content, and duration of the growth cycle on the enzyme activity and mycelium growth was studie...
متن کاملCompressive Behavior of Luffa Sponge Material at High Strain Rate
The strain rate effect of luffa sponge material is an indispensable property for it to be used for acoustic, vibration, and impact energy absorption. Compressive tests at different strain rates on cylindrical column specimens of luffa sponge material were conducted over a wide density ranging from 24 to 64 kg/m. A photographic technique was applied to measure the section area of the specimen wi...
